14th Annual International Youth Leadership Conference
As part of the Albert Schweitzer international student initiative and the goal of impacting more and more students in Ireland and abroad, the ICCUSA Foundation, Inc. will host the 13th Annual International Youth Leadership Conference.
Dates:
Sunday, July 21st to Sunday, July 28th, 2024 at Maynooth University, Co. Kildare, Ireland
The 14th Annual ASLFL International Youth Leadership Conference will deliver 7 days of diverse youth leadership programming. There will be an Opening Ceremony at Maynooth University and a Graduation Gala Dinner.
Location:
The setting will be at one primary location right outside of Dublin, at Maynooth University in Co. Kildare, Ireland – (lectures, workshops, speakers, sessions, room & board facilities for all students) www.maynoothuniversity.ie
Students:
The conference is for students aged 15-18. The students will originate from countries around the world. Parental consent, medical consent and health insurance forms will be required.
Program Fee:
The program fee of $1,750.00 USD, covers all logistical needs such as meals, lodging, ground transportation and venue entrance during the ASLFL conference. The program fee does not cover the cost of transportation to and from the conference, neither visa, passport costs, or overseas coordinator fees. A deposit of $375 is needed to reserve the space by Friday, February 2, 2024. This fee is non-refundable. Delegates are guaranteed a space at the conference only if full payment is received by the time registration closes and ASLFL has confirmed that the delegate has met all of the eligibility requirements. Final payment is due by Friday, April 12, 2024.
For groups of 10 students, we allow 1 chaperone free of charge. For every additional chaperone, there will be a charge of $900.00 per person.
Services covered by Student Registration Fees:
• The conference services will be held Sunday, July 21st to Sunday, July 28th, 2024
• Food – 3 full meals each day (except for the day trip to Dublin, lunch will not be provided)
• Lodging – safe, secure and chaperoned
• Transportation to and from Dublin Airport to Maynooth University only for International arrivals and departures
• Full participation in any and all conference programs, curriculum and special events
• Access to all ASLFL Conference Staff and supervisory support
Not covered by Student & Chaperone Fees:
• Air travel costs and visas
• Bus or train costs outside the conference
• Transportation to and from the airports via international destinations within your own state/country
• Any miscellaneous trips before or after the conference
• Pocket money for shopping and snacks (lunch in Dublin)
ASLFL reserves the right to refuse an ambassador’s acceptance to the conference due to non-payment, partial payment, late payment, or failure to meet all of the eligibility requirements. If a delegate has paid for the conference but then is unable to attend, please contact Victoria Kamouh, via email at victoria@iccusa.org for a refund in accordance with the cancellation policy.
Attendance at the ASLFL Conference is granted on a first-paid first-served basis. There is a limit on the number of registrants per country so please register as quickly as possible.
Registration Deadline:
Student Registration and Parental Consent Forms are due on Friday, March 22, 2024, on this date all relevant Student Registration data is due to the ASLFL office in New Providence, NJ.
Acceptance:
Because the ASLFL conference sells out each year, delegates are accepted on a first-paid first-served basis as long as they meet all the eligibility requirements, submit their personal application details, and pay their program fee in full. When ASLFL has confirmed all of these factors, the student and his/her parents will be notified of acceptance by email. Early enrollment and full payment of program fee is strongly recommended to secure a spot. It is important to note that if there is a failure to fulfill any one of the requirements – including paying in advance and in full – you will be refunded (in accordance with the cancellation policy) and your space revoked. - Any cancellations received by Tuesday, April 23, 2024 will receive a registration fee refund minus the $375 deposit and the $250 administrative fee.
- Any cancellations received between Wednesday, April 24, 2024 to Friday, May 17, 2024 will receive a registration fee refund minus the $375 deposit and the $400 administrative fee.
- Any cancellations received after Friday, May 17, 2024 will not be eligible for a refund.

Where is the conference being held?
The ASLFL conference is being held at the Maynooth University, Co. Kildare, Ireland which is 20 minutes outside of Dublin, Ireland. Opening & Closing Ceremonies and select events will be off campus with the majority of the conference being done at Maynooth College (conference sessions, meals & room accommodations for all students).

How far is the airport from Dublin City?
Dublin Airport is about 12km from Dublin City.
How far is the airport from Maynooth University?
Dublin Airport is 30 minutes from Maynooth University, where the majority of the program will take place.
Will there be transportation to and from the airport?
Yes. If you are traveling as an International delegation, ASLFL will be organizing group pick-ups from Dublin Airport to the dorms.
What kind of clothing or attire should the students bring?
The attire for the week of the Conference, students (boys and girls) must be properly dressed at all times, just like if you were going to school. For the girls, we do not accept revealing clothes, such as hot pants, short shorts, micro skirts, crop tops, flip flops. The only shorts allowed are cotton Bermuda shorts, 2 inches above the knee. For the boys, we do not allow sporting shorts, sweatpants of any kind or flip flops. The only shorts allowed are cotton tailored Bermuda shorts.
Clothing attire for the Graduation Gala, the boys are required to wear a jacket and tie, no jeans, no sneakers, no flip flops; the girls are required to wear an appropriate elegant dress (not revealing).
If anyone does not dress to the standards of the ASLFL Conference, they will be sent back to their room to change into appropriate attire.
Also, considering the varied climate Ireland has, we suggest some light protective rain gear (just in case). The weather is not predictable, so it would be convenient to bring a warm jacket, umbrella and raingear.

How secure are the accommodations?
The accommodation center is fully contained in secure grounds at Maynooth University. All students will be engaged in on site activities and therefore will be fully supervised by staff. Attendance will be monitored by group facilitators.
Specialized Food Menu – vegetarian/religious/allergic status
There is at least one vegetarian meal available each day. Special dietary requirements will be catered for. This will be included in the information we get back from our students. On the application form students should make special requests so the conference can accommodate specific needs. International students should also contact their regional coordinator.
Accommodating the disabled on campus or travel
The accommodation is accessible. There are specially adapted rooms for those that need it.
Travel by buses
Transport will be supplied throughout the week for all activities/events that are offered.
Dorms
All bedrooms are single bed study rooms with en-suite bathroom. The residential buildings will be mixed in with people from different areas but will be separated by boys and girls.
Supervision – what are the reassuring aspects of the separation of boys and girls in terms of lodging?
There are separate buildings for boys and girls on site.
Medics/specialized medical care on site. US healthcare insurance options?
All staff/volunteers will have information in relation to emergency medical care/hospitals/doctors on call etc. in their staff packets. Each participant that is traveling should ensure that their own health insurance is up to date and covers them while they are in Ireland.
Pre-existing training regimens
Down time will be available for students to engage in organized activities. Students will not be permitted to do any activities alone outside of these times. Students are not allowed to leave campus alone without a chaperone.
Bedding/Towels
All bedding, sheets and towels are provided with the accommodation.
Papers/Notebook/Pens – will they be provided etc?
All stationary will be provided to the participants.

What not to bring?
Any items of personal or monetary value. We cannot be held responsible for the loss of personal items. Please leave such items at home.
While you are welcome to bring your mobile phone with you, they will need to be kept on silence during all main workshops and gatherings.
Spending Money
A small amount of money should be brought to buy drinks/snacks etc. in the snack shop which will be on site. All other main meals are provided. It is not advisable or required to have large sums of money with you.
